my aunty of almost eighty got a dirty phone call last night.
\she's vey shaken and it's such a shame as she was just starting to cope on her own, after losing my uncle eight weeks ago.
She told me that she would recognise his voice if she ever heard it again. When I asked her how, she said:
'well it was quite obvious that he has asthma!'
I didn't have the heart to tell her what was the matter with his voice!
The whistle is your answer. Many, many years ago I was receiving weird scary call and on the advise of friends bought a referee's whistle in a sports shop. The next time a call came through I blew the whistle as loudy as I could. That was the last call I ever received of that type.
I was at my sisters house one day when the phone rang. She just said "I havent got time for this" and hung up. I said what was that and she said - a heavy breather, as if it was an every day occurrance!
Years ago, my sisters bf had a habit of phoning in the middle of the night - which peed my parents off no end. One night the phone went, my sis flew out of bed with my mum shouting down after her that she's better tell him to stop that. She picked up the phone and gave him absolute hell and on her way back to bed my mum commented about her bf - my sister had to point out that actually it had been an obscene phone call but the guy had barely been able to get a word in :)
