How do I cure my turbohead?

No, not mine, the one on my vacuum cleaner. You know the sort of thing: the suction from the cleaner rotates a turbo wheel which drives a rotating brush.

The head has stopped working. I have had it completely to pieces and can find nothing wrong. The turbo wheel runs freely as does the brush, and the belt connection between the two is fine. There are no blockages in the head or in the hose and tube feeding it. The suction from the cleaner seems strong: when I jam my hand over the end of the hose it takes some force to pull it away. Yet nothing rotates when I try to use it.

What can be wrong?

mine is the same, don't think it ever worked very well, will be interested to see what answers you get.
Could you tell me the model and I may help you with your enquiry, DC??
oh and not to insult your intelligence but you are aware that the turbo head on an upright and be switched off when vacuuming over deep pile carpets by the yellow indicator on the foot plate, you can switch this to the off position and the turbo head will stop

annieigma - ours has qorked very well for ages.

Peeler Pal - it is the turbohead from our old Meile Cat&Dog cleaner which we transferred to our present Bosch Terrossa 2000W with no problem at all until the other day when the turbo wheel, and therefore the brush, would no longer rotate. Perhaps the suction strength has deteriorated after all.
hmm it's a bit difficult to determin the fault for a product that is not being used on the machine for which it is intended, sorry my friend I wouldn't know where to start. good luck though

Peeler Pal, I quite understand: that's seems a rational position to take - except for the fact that it has been working in that condition for a year or two now! After all, all ir needs is suction down the standard hose. I think I'll check the suction powefr after all. Thank you anyway. Grateful to you.
