Since it insists on telling you the licence holder of the Network is, instead of recognising the name of the company who has bought capacity on the T-Mobile network, and sending that to the mobile instead. It would have been nice, but I guess not a high priority thing to arrange. Coverage is more important.
I have also had this with my phone, I used to get bad signal at my house and now it's great. I'm going to do a test and see if when I use my phone in one of the area's of Liverpool where I’m registered with orange whether or not my Virgin account Balance goes down ... Nope, it still goes down as normal. I haven't heard of a merger (which is what it probably is rather than a take over) either, but I have never had signal here and now all of a sudden I do. It's weird, but not unaccepted by me. Obviously, you can always ask Virgin Mobile themselves about it and they could probably give you an answer, but nothing is on their website, or on the net; but I guess you already knew that. Hope this helps.
