Saving Photos in order of date
3 Answers
I'm going through hundreds of photos and trying to think of the best way to name each photo so they are kept in order of the date taken
I was thinking for example:
181111 Drive in the country
191111 Day at the beach
Would this keep them in order or does anyone have a better order?

180111, then 180211 then 180311 and so on, then all the 19's together, then the 20s etc which you dont want .
So you need to start with the YEAR then the MONTH then the DAY.
This basic principle applies to all data in computer, even in a spreadsheet or database where it is to be sorted.
And as allbags says, in Windows you can already sort phots by date just by clicking on the "date" column heading.
Note that when you import pictures into a computer from your camera you can normally "name" the files so you can choose to give them a name based on the date at that point.
