Just curious Tambo - are you in England?, I can find no trace of a form with that reference number. Normally the tenant fills in form HCTB1 and provides all their details and proof from landlord re start of tenancy and rent payable. The council may approach you to verify but it seems odd they are expecting a long form filled in.

Only other ref on it is copyright 2011 Govtech solutions ltd. The Council is named on top. 52 A4 pages long - ugh !

it's probably mostly tick-boxes and lots of "if you ticked yes, go to section 16", so you can skip through it.

If I understand correctly, it's your tenant who has sent you the form not the DHSS. I am in receipt of Pension Credit and therefore receive Housing Benefit. My benefit has nothing whatsoever to do with my landlord. It's me who claims and me who receives the benefit. I then pay my landlord monthly directly to her bank account. In order to claim I have to complete the lengthy form, which includes the name and address of my landlord and provide a copy of my tenancy contract.

I can only suggest that maybe your tenant is paying cash with a rent book and possibly there's a section in the form which you need to complete to confirm the tenant's rent, etc. Why not call the council? They are usually very helpful and won't be intrusive about your situation - they only want to know about the tenant's situation. And no, there's no way they would have any control over your property!

I don't know about this at all, but if completeling the form results in the rent coming direct to you without "Missing a turn" or "Going to jail", won't that be worth it?

I can track down GovTech, they do Ecapture to speed up claims and reviews, but cannot find the form.

I have been a private tenant for 37 years and on HB at certain times and my Landlord has no idea if I am or not.

the form reference youve given sounds more like a print reference. Is there no number across the top?
