Yes, its on a heat setting. Its got an auto minute start

If the substace you are trying to heat hasn't got a loose molecular structure then molecular aggitation and molecular fricition will not occur.  This friction between molecules produces the heat which is caused by the frequency of the microwaves (produced by the magnitron). Hope this helps.

have you tested that its working at all?  try a cup of water in it

Tried heating some 'Wall's Micro sausages' up. It worked yesterday. Obviously some sort of fault. I will probably have to bin it.  Cheers.

Make sure there's not a pool of spilt water underneath the turntable. This could be taking away some of the heat from your sausages. Being made for the microwave, I assume that they only take a short time to cook, and if a lot of the power is being used to heat the water, then your sausages won't cook in the recommmended time.

Chillum, I've checked for water and there is none mate. just put a cup of water on for 1 minute...stone bl00dy cold!

Ignore Jay's answer as it has nothing to do with friction. If it sounds as if it is working and nothing gets even warm then I think the magnetron has gone. Bin it and buy a new one.

Last microwave I had which didn't work (apart from the one which smelt like it wasn't gonna work) had a loose connection.  It looked like the HT lead on a car - the one between the coil and the spark plug. Make sure the ends are tight and if it still doesn't work, bin it. Watch out for the large voltage.
