region code for dvd player

I have a Panasonic dvd player, & have been given a dvd from oz region 4, is there a way of adapting my player to be able to watch it. thanks

You need to turn off the region encoding on the player - I have had a number of Panasonics and done this.
Unfortunately it's not simple with Panasonics - there are a number of companies who supply a one shot remote that will do this - you pay them, they send you the remote and you use it and send it back.
It seems now these codes have been cracked but given you could damage the recorder if you get it wrong or they're not right for your model you might like to go for the paid option
