hi all, i would like your help again if you would.

i was recently in a car crash as a passenger in a taxi, it was the taxi drivers fault (idiot was texting on his phone or summat).

iv seen my gp today and he said its whiplash. im wondering if theres anything i can do to gain compensation, im not part of the "compensation culture" but i think fair is fair. the cheeky c**t even had the greed to demand payment for the 1 mile trip after nearly doing us all serious harm.

not to mention the poor pregnant lady in the car we hit! i wish her well.

im disguisted as im told becouse the police were not involved im not entitled.

could anyone clarify please because i dont want to pursue a pointless cause.

thanks!!

So what happened with the pregnant lady in the other car?

What details do you have?
Police don't have to have been involved. did you get his registration details? did he exchange details with the lady whose car he hit? How long ago was the accident?

You are entitled to make a claim against his insurance for any injuries you've sustained - although it really depends on how badly your hurt, that's for you to decide. How fast was he going? was her car stationary?
You'll need his insurance details or registration number before you can make a claim. but yeah, to answer your question, you can claim (be warned you may get a few accusations about being a vulture of some sort on here for putting up this question!) x

she was a passenger, her fella was driving. i honestly dont know, the taxi driver gave them his details i didnt exchange any info. poor woman was in tears and in pain on the pavement, prob in shock too. the collision occured while the other car was still, waiting to turn right. taxi was doing about 20-30mph on impact. the only detail iv got is the taxi drivers number, you know the one displayed on the inside of the windscreen?
Have you tried phoning the taxi firm with the drivers number?
You are entitled to claim compensation from the taxi driver's insurance as this appears to be his fault. You should try and find out his taxi ragistration details as well as the taxi number you have, if you can. You can choose to go to one of these 'claims solicitors' who advertise on a no win no fee basis, alternatively, if you have home insurance you will probably find you they will help with the legal expenses of a claim. Make sure you have a full medical report from your doctor saying how bad the whiplash is. Hope this helps.
