door knobs
5 Answers
i cannot close my lounge door because the little catch on my brass door knob is stuck in. Is there an easy way to get it to stay out again. If i poke it with a knife it does come out but when i turn the knob it goes in and stays in again. grateful for any ideas thank you Janet x

When they start to do this, it's time to replace it ............ you can do it!
Can you see how to remove one of the door knobs?

Right ........... remove screws ......... take off one doorknob and pull out spindle.
Remove the two screws in the tubular latch and pull that out. (Might be stuck in a bit with paint etc)
Latches are different lengths, so make sure you get the right one. With knobs, it's usually 76mm .......... but do check.
B&Q or similar, or Builder's Merchants will have the one you want.
Go for it, Janet :o)
