Common salt is sodium chloride, NaCl, but it is the sodium that is the problem in the diet.
Based on the molecular weight of both sodium and chlorine in the compound, there is 39% of sodium in common salt (because a chlorine molecule is heavier than a sodium molecule, so if there is 0.133g of sodium, there is 0.34g of salt in one cheese triangle. Since it weighs 7.5g, there is 4.5% of salt in it.

Sodium isn't always in food as salt it can be present on it's own or as part of other compounds...

but assuming all of that sodium was made up of salt it would be about 0.3325g of salt.
At least we seem to agree, even if you found a quicker way to it.

thanks all,
So, if I get this right, 6 x 4 triangles of 7.5 gms total weight would be 2 gms of salt, a days intake for a child.
thanks again.
