Hi abers..

Not sure if this is the right topic, but ill give it a go!!

I wanted to make some garden plaques with the kiddies for fathers day.. we have some lovely collected stones etc, but I was planning on using plaster of paris.. but it occured to me that this might not be water proof.. hence not a good garden ornament!! Does any one have any other ideas on what we could use. Thanks a lot xx

What do you mean by a 'garden plaque'?
Fimo - you have to bake it gently but I am sure it should be ok for the garden
I love using Fimo! Very easy to work with... Just make sure you use a baking sheet :-)
milliput or sculpey
it air hardens and is rock hard and waterproof

well, I was going to pour plaster of paris into a mould and then let the kids plop there stones into it.. (Im a childminder, so wanted to make something for dads that all ages could have a go at!) then it could hang from a tree, or layed into the soil or put on a wall etc?
plaster practically drinks water and its also pretty fragile - it would not last long.

ah.. great, thanks for that guys!!... Hope it works!!!
Fimo is just like plasticine. They could make their own shapes from it and stick the stones etc into it.
