Are poker sites legit?
12 Answers
Do you think poker websites are designed in the same way as games machines and slot machines, as in they pay out 30% for every 100% they make? Or are they random as in a normal card game?

There are some legit sites where you can play for free and even win some money, but make sure you don't give them your card details so they can 'deposit' your winnings into it. Your fee for visiting those sites are tolerating the adverts.

legal or not , gambling of all sorts is a mugs game for 99.9999999% of people.
Remember all the fuss and furore in the 90's about the super casinos that labour were going to give the go ahead to ?.......all the TV and online gambling puts that in the shade, hardly a whisper about it though.
Have you ever seen a poor bookie ?
Close school friends father in law had a small chain of bookies in the Harrow area, and I remember we asked him why he got into it because he didnt seem the sort, whatever the sort is.
Reply was very simple as I stated above "because it's a mugs game".
Him and his wife moved to Monaco some years back after selling up !

I've played online poker before over the years on and off and generally found them infuriating. I usually felt like they were setting two or three people at a time up with good hands so that everyone assumed they had a winning hand and obviously only one would be the victor. Saying that it could just be coincidence. However if this was the case then surely there would be lawsuits against them and whatnot.
I know someone who has just lost his wife and his house to on-line gaming. He's 63 and retired but he racked up £70,000 in debt to on-line bingo. I know some will say it's his choice but on-line gambling has been made too easy. Until recently, if someone wanted to gamble they had to put their coat on, traipse through the rain and physically enter a bookies or bingo hall. They were limited to opening hours and most could only spend whatever money they had in their pocket.
Now those limits have been removed. Gamblers can just sit at home and clock up huge debts on credit cards 24 hours a day. It's not just it being a matter of choice. Many gamblers do have a very real problem which not affects them and their families, but society too. When people lose their jobs, homes, health etc we all have to pick up the pieces.
These on-line sites should be closed down.

Not all online poker sites are legit, but there are many US friendly poker sites that you can have good, clean fun when it comes to poker and it with a computer you can set limits to your playing time if you think it'll get out of hand. I also use http:// acepoke rsoluti ons.com which is a poker training software.
