Forgive me for not knowing about this but how does an IPAD work - ie if you get one do you still pay for broadband.

I use the broadband in my house - you can get ones which work outside of the house (I think they are a bit like big smart phones).

You get them with wifi only or wifi & 3G, at home you'd just hook up to your usual wifi, if you have the 3G version there will be some kind of monthly contract for the supply if mobile internet.

Hi - a smart phone is (I think) one which you can use to access the Internet, get email, etc.

I have just had one for 10 days now and I love it. Like the others said - it works off our wifi at home or if you are at any pub or cafe etc. which has free wifi. If you get the other sort - the 3g or whatever it is you would have to pay a monthly fee so if you have wifi at home you probably wouldnt want to do that.

If you already have a smart phone with internet access as part of your contract. I think you will find most tablets have bluetooth and can be tethered to a smart phone.
So when you are out and about you can access the internet on your tablet through your phone.

For example...Earlier today I was at hospital for a few hours, I took my tablet along which is wifi only. I connected it to my wifes phone using bluetooth (she has unlimited internet with her contract). This gave my tablet free internet access. You dont need to have a 3G tablet , just a smart phone and a wifi tablet.

Make sure you check your monthly data allowance with your phone provider.
