Where is Ceefax & those cheap holiday adverts ?

Gone along with analogue TV. If the red button doesn't show you holiday ads on your chosen channel then you may as well try the Net. I think 4 or 5 might have such ads, I don't tend to look for them.

We went digital this morning. Although we were told that only BBC2 would be switched off analogue, for some reason on my set the BBC1 channel is now blank, BBC1 having moved to where I had stored BBC2. I still have Ceefax, but it will go in a fortnight. When I tuned in to digital the BBC channels were missing, all the others were untouched. A rescan soon found them, so no problems so far.

Re-tuning is almost constant; and the loss of recording programs is schitt. I wonder why we pay licence fees for a 50% service

Digital TV is very hit or miss; it all depends on the reception in your area. We are quite lucky, I rarely have to retune, though my box occasionally fails to record, even when channels are being received - don't know why.

How do you work it. I can only record the channel I'm viewing; that's useless !

I have a digital TV recorder, which is a digibox with a hard disk which stores recordings. I just go to the on-screen TV guide, select a programme and click record, job done. If the programme is part of a series then there in an option to record either the programme or the entire series. This means that for shows like Corrie I only have had to click record once, about two years ago, and all subsequent episodes have been automatically recorded. It has twin tuners which means that I can watch one channel and record another or, if I am not watching TV, record two channels simultaneously. It can store up to 150 hours of recordings. It is a very useful piece of kit, and it was under £100. I wouldn't be without it now.

you tend to find the channels will appear over a few weeks ,just need to rescan every so often & dont panic !!!!, cant believe how many people had new aerials fitted when they didnt need to.
Tamborine, VHS or DVD recorder ? most VHS wont work on digital..DVD/HDD recorders tend to have built in freeview.

Channel 101 (Freeview) is Teletext Hols. Unfortunately it is blank - no content!

But what's going to happen to freeview when G4 kicks in later this year? It's been reported that it will affect the freeview signal and thousands of us won't get a picture any more ?

I believe people may have to pay for a filter. So much for "free"view eh?

They shouldn't be allowed to operate until they have their own signal - surely this is illegal ....

Government supposed to be paying for all the filters - wonder how that will work !
