We have an LG TV which receives Freeview no problem However, recently a new set of channels launched in Ireland called Saorview which consists of some tv channels and some radio. When I tried to tune these in I get the radio channels but only get the audio of the tv channels and no picture. Is there any way to get the picture as well as the audio for the tv channels?

You can check to see if your TV has a region setting anywhere, and if it has make sure it's set to Ireland if possible, but the chances are you'll have no luck and your set is only MPEG2 capable, saorview broadcasts in MPEG4.

in which case all you can do is get a set top box, or a new TV.

Yeah Chuck, our tv is set to uk but there is no Ireland option there, though there is every other european country for some reason. Guess I'll look into box options. Do you know if there are ones which receivee freeview and saorview and also have a recorder built in?

Thanks headwreck, but I think that the tv/dvd player doesn't have the necessary technology within to show the visuals.
