Easy - I used an agent (I don't have time for all the chasing myself)
Varies - the last one was a month - the ones who are protesting innocence have now been sent to FOS, could take another 6 months
All you have to have to hand is a copy of the credit card or loan statement, showing that they are charging you PPI. You have to fill in a form but you don't need any other evidence.

I have completed the forms and sent them off, Ironically i shredded the paperwork just before the PPI came up in the press. I wish i had'nt. Anyway, i got a letter today, to tell me they are looking into it. (that was so quick) HBOS had a record of my account numbers, so they had the information in front of them on their systems. However, Natwest have not replied? I wonder why??
I had no record of account numbers. Nor did i for HBOS, but they seemed to find me....I will wait and be patient. I only sent it last week. Im just being inpatient.. lol. Although the company that wanted £36 for every £100, did'nt want to touch the claim for Natwest...I cannot think why. it was a mortgage in 2002.
Boxtops, you are clever, you know everything about everything...

Oooh phleb, I don't, but I have done a lot of things in my life, and am happy to share!
I believe you can ask Natwest for past statements, someone told me the banks would charge £10 for a statement so you then have the account number....
The other thing you might do is take a credit reference report (they cost about £3) and all your historic credit should be listed there, with numbers. You still need to be able to prove that they were charging you a PPI premium, though.
A week's a very short space of time - our agency acknowledges in a week but it's usually a month or so after that before anything happens.

Don't use any agency!!! Go to Martin's Money Tips website and print off his form. Its as simple as anything and you get to keep all the refund to yourself without giving a fee to an agency. I had my claim from the Halifax all done and paid into my account in about 9 weeks. There is no need to do any chasing, its absolutely no hassle - all you need is your memory as to why you think you were mis-sold. Go for it
