My friend has bought a new laptop, but when you hit a key its the next key symbol that appears on screen. This has happened on my own laptop before but I can't remember how I fixed it. Can any of you helpful clever ABers help? Thanks in advance

You're not alone. It'll probbly depend on the version of Windows you're using, but Google has a string of links on the subject, any one of which may help...
