Hi I have a spare Iphone 4, (this phone was previously on an 02 contract) I want to use a new pay as you go sim in this. But inserting the new 02 sim just keeps dispalying a messaging that the phone is "searching" for signal.

Surely it does not need to be unlocked as is it still 02!

yes, the phone needs to be unlocked if it is going from contract to payg. I did just this, o2 will unlock the phone, it should happen automatically but might take a few days, phone them and ask.

Thank you woof for your answer. In the end I phone them and all i had to do was reset / install the phones original settings so it's sorted. Thanks for taking the time to respond.
