At what point do I get in touch with a seller if my item has still not been posted?

Check their despatch time and method of posting (first or second class) The PO won't investigate a missing item until 15 working days have passed.

At least here in the U.S., I'd wait until the "Expected Delivery Date" notice appears in the posting. It should (again, at least here) have a Tracking Number associated with it. If, as the date approaches, you haven't seen any signs of posting, I'd send a semi-friendly reminder and ask if there's a problem. (I had just such a case a few weeks ago and the seller, after a few days e-mailed that a family emergency had taken them away from home, apologized and assured the item had been shipped... it arive within a couple of days).

After notifying the seller and, especially if there's no response, then I'd open a case with E-bay. They've been very helpful and brought to resolution every case I've opened...

i would wait for 7 days after i have paid and message seller asking about the item. good luck.

I paid last Wednesday via Paypal,and the estimated delivery date is between the 9th and 11th. I suppose there is a chance the item has been posted but the seller has not bothered to message me about it.

It was also listed as 2nd class postage.

I set 14 days as a limit before chasing seller.

The seller ought to change the sold listing to show he's despatched it (well, I do) so you can check the progress of the despatch.

I'd leave it say 10 days after the sale before querying it - some people are very slow in mailing.

... and not everyone tells the buyer when the item's been despatched. I think it's only civil to do so, but not everyone does.

Check the handling time first. If its not been dispatched within that period then go ahead. You will also find case when order not being marked as dispatched when they are actually are.
