Got in late tonight 7.30 pm, unpacking shopping and dropped my mobile into the washing up bowl full of water. My phone tells me it has two messages, so still on but it won't unlock. It is not responding to me pressing the unlock icon on the front. It won't do anything at all. I can't switch it on or off. What shall I do?

Take the battery out immediately!! dry it slowly in the airing cupboard after shaking out excess water.
Hairdryer might work
I reqd somewhere that you should put it in a bowl of rice and leave it there (no idea how long for).
It is unlikely your phone will survive very long after a dunking. Is it insured?
If you've got any handy, sink the components in some rice AND somewhere warm, for 24 to 48 hours. The rice will draw out all the water.

I'm such a dumbo, I don't know how to take it apart. Can't seem to get the back off!
I did the same Tilly. Mine worked again when it dried out. Put it somewhere warm for a day or two.

It's not insured, ratter. I bought it on Boxing Day and haven't got round to insuring it. My bank does it free but I haven't yet done it. It cost only £39.99
You really need to get that back off quickly!!! it could be life or death for your phone!!
What kind of phone is it?

I agree with the rice suggestion x

From looking on google it looks as if you just slide it off... There should be an arrow on the back telling you where to push...

Here's a video... I don't know if it's helpful or if it will even work at all lol!
