I have a TV aerial installed inside my loft. However, I have since had cable TV installed. The TV in my bedroom uses the aerial as I only watch terrestrial TV in bed. To complicate matters further I have insulated my loft with a material made up on thin layers of foil. This affects the reception I receive in the bedroom, but obviously not the cable TV. Due to the poor reception Teletext has several characters dropping out, making it impossible to view. How can I improve this? I am sure Teletext is not available on cable TV, but if it is it may be a poorer cousin of the original.

You could try adding an amplifier (booster) into the circuit.

These plug into the mains. Plug the aerial into it, then run a cable out of the amplifier into the tv.

Some work well, others not so well. Best ask/read some reviews to get a good make and model.

Maplins should have an answer for you.

Most shops sell them: Argos, Dixons etc

We have Telewest cable, and if you put the TV on the cable channel, put cable to BBC1 etc then press the text button on your TV remote (not the Telewest remote) you should get ordinary text services.
