Jury Duty
11 Answers
My husband has a summons to do jury service. As his employer is not under any obligation to pay his normal wage whilst he is serving, we have worked out that if the case goes on for 2 weeks, taking into account 'expenses paid' by HM, we will be 900 pounds out of pocket.
His employers may pay him, of course but surely this is not a good situation.
I can't recall any outcry about this at any time.
Are we missing something?

That must be a serious risk that someone whose wages include commission or r overtime and the like, will find that the employer's return gives only the basic wage, for example.
