Does anyone know how you can speak to someone from BT but in the UK about a phone problem? I'm at my wits end after 3 calls to their overseas centre, I want to escalate it.
When my phone line went dead about a year ago I simply called 0800 800 151. The guy I spoke to sounded British and he was able to get my line tested while I waited. He confirmed that there was a fault and arranged for an engineer to visit the exchange. That engineer arrived quickly, confirming his attendance (and later that the fault had been cleared) by a text message.
BT has many critics (sometimes including me) but I found their fault-fixing service to be really efficient.
Alternatively, have you tried their web-based service (bt.com/faults)?
I have had to call using their from a mobile number 03301234150. I have used the web based service, yes, asking them to ring me - that was Saturday morning and apart from an acknowledgement no-reply e-mail with an incident number I've heard nothing more.
Try the 0800 number then. (If you can't access it from your landline or mobile, ask to borrow someone's landline phone. As long as they're with BT it will be a free call).
They are polite but when my blood is boiling the extra effort required to understand the accent just adds to the fire. And my web request for them to call me asap has still not happened some 60 hours later.
