Retreaving Lost Information On Computer
9 Answers
I very stupidly clicked on Yes without thinking and I've now lost 20 pages of saved work and left with one page which is next to useless! This is in Windows 7 in Word 2002. It asked me if the new document was to replace the other and I said Yes. Can I retrieve the old document?

first do a search for a folder with that name in your search bar, - may be called auto recover or auto save, if one appears your work may be in there.
if there isn't one, you can set it in word. (it wont bring back what you've lost but will stop you losing it again)
I don't have 2002 version but it shouldn't be too different to find - in options, find the 'save' section and set it to auto save your work however often you like - i think the default is about 10 mins, but i changed mine to 3, as a lot can change in 10 mins!
if you can't find it, go to help and search for auto-save options and that should guide you.
