why is it that if you put factor 8 sun cream on and then if you add another layer on top of factor 8 again, it only remains as factor 8 not 16, yet when i trialled contact lenses and put my own glasses over the top, the eye doctor said it would double the strength. This could be very technical but im interested to know the answer if anyone can help.

I suppose if you just put one, really thick, layer of factor 8 on, it is still factor 8 but I see what you mean.
