Finding A Phone Number.

I need to cancel an appointment with the chiropodist. He calls at the house and has not got a regular surgery. I have lost his telephone number. I have tried everything I can think of - advertising sites and booklets, 118118 - who could not find anything although he has an unusual name - and the net. He is on the net but the address and telephone number are obsolete. Apparently he has not lived there for four years (very embarrassing) and they did not have a number for him. Anyone got any suggestions as to how to find him?

On a similar line of thought . . . Do you know anyone who uses the same chiropodist as you. If so, try asking them.

How did you initially meet him? Were you, perhaps, referred by a doctor or practice nurse? If so, they'll probably have his current contact details.
Have you looked at www.scpod.org? Perhaps he is on there.

Good thinking, Snowdrop!

Here's the link, Starone:

I initially found him in a small advertising book which was delivered to me when I moved to Nailsea a year ago (lost it). Accoding to the net he has the letters MSSCh and MBChA after his name, so presumbly he is a bona fide chiropodist but he only does house visits. Tried the link you have given Buenchico but they could not find him. Oh dear, I have made a mess for myself. I am going on holiday. Reckon I will have to pay him for not being there when he calls - and so I should for being so careless.

I am going to ask a couple of the neighbours if they have a little blue booklet like the one I have lost and I think he visits the local old people's flats so I could go in there and make some enquiries. Thanks for your help everyone. Especially Chris.

Yes he is mamya - it is Stephan Cloete but his address and phone number are four years out of date. (damn it).
Have you tried local nursing homes or diabetic groups. A diabetic lady I once knew had a chiropodist visit her as they have to keep their nails cut.

Good idea Yorky lass. I'll try that. Don't really want to pay £22 for nothing.

I don't think you should have to pay if you can't contact him and his details are obsolete. What else are you supposed to do?

There is someone else in Nailsea on this list, (Ian Strickland) could you ask him? they might know of each other.

I've missed you lately Starone, are you ok? I hope you have a nice holiday where-ever you are going.

I am O.K. jem. I have been too idle to look through the jokes section, but I will get back to it one day. I am going to France (Brittany) to see my son and daughter-in-law who have decided it is cheaper to live there than here. Only for a few days. Personally I think they are mad, but then I like it here.
You've rather put your foot in it there starone :)

I know canary! I must be classified as stupid not to have put his number in my phone book right away.

starone, he is also very unprofessional not keeping his details up to date, he is on any number of lists with his old address.

I can see I am going to be busy tomorrow. I will let you know if I am successful. Watch this space!
no reason for you to be embarrassed, starone, he's the one who hasn't told anyone he's moved. How does he expect to get business?
