I have had nothing but trouble with this printer, now I have changed the inks [ all 4] bought from HP recommended dealer and the printer says -ink cartridges missing or damaged -. Does anyone know a help number where a real human being can talk me through whatever I am doing wrong, normally I ask next door neighbour but they are on holiday, I am 75 years young and Mrs Techno I am not. Thank you.
As a first step, keep trying switching the printer off, count to 60, switch it on again, and when it's set itself up have another go.
You should also contact the dealer for advice if this doesn't work.
I don't know the type of cartridge your printer takes but it is quite possible that the copper contact strips on one of the cartridges isn't making good contact with the printer.
Try gently cleaning the contact strips with methylated spirits as fingers can leave them a bit greasy if touched.
