Does anyone know how much it costs to move house. Sell the house I am living in, and buy another one, moving furniture etc and solicitors costs and legal fees etc.

There are so many variables here, it's impossible to say.

price of your house, new house, distance you are moving etc, etc,etc

Well the distance would not be far. But the price of the house, is that really relevant to the cost of moving.
If selling using an estate agent, their fees would either be fixed or a % of the selling price, normally 1 - 2% ish. You then have solicitors fees to do all the conveyancing, dealing with the purchaser/sellers solicitor. When buying you will have costs for searches, surveys etc.
The list is endless, this may help as a guide.......

Yes, the cost of your houses will be reflected in the costs of the fees you have to pay - then it all depends on the size of your house how much removers will charge, transit insurance, etc.
Think how long is a piece of string or how deep is an hole.
Last one I was involved in cost £14,824.75
Not sure if it still applies now but 7 years ago if you bought a house over 250k you have to pay a lot in stamp duty, I had to pay 8k..total rip off!
Always has been and always will be, Elvis.
Also if you have a mortgage on the existing house you have to cash that in and get a new mortgage on the new house.

There will also be fees and charges for this.
Just started buying a £150,000 semi. Solicitors fees are around £2700 survey is about £500 for homebuyers. Think you need to do some research its all out there.......
allow 5.000

Well property for sale is probably worth about £220,000 at a guess, and I'm looking to downsize, small garden, two bedrooms etc. Also so I can free up some money (no dont have a mortgage). But is it going to be worth doing if it costs loads of money to actually move, thats what I need to work out.

Probably looking at spending about £150,000 on next property. Any ideas?
just a heads up for this question, the cost will base on how far are you moving and also the location. The furnitures that you will move its how heavy and how many of them. I think the price of the house is not relevant in moving, because you're asking about the cost of moving only. If you want a reference or quote on how much the moving is, you can visit http://www.sussexremovals.com/removal-companies.html i have a great experience with them in terms of their service and costing. hope this will help for future reference.
