Camera - Canon IXUS M-1

Am not sure where on earth I am meant to post this question, but seeing as my question concerns why my camera isnt working, this is as good a place as any.

I have the camera as listed in Subject header.  All of a sudden it's decided not to work, the film doesn't seem to want to wind on. A new film and battery have both recently been replaced, so I can't see any reason for it not to work, other than it's broken! Does anyone have any knowledge of cameras? Or at least have a good website I can take a look at for troubleshooting problems?

My wife had a similar problem when we were in Italy last year. We tried a new battery to no avail.

On our return we enquired about the cost of a service from the manufacturers and were quoted �80 by Boots , where it was bought. Notmuch use as the camera was �100 when new.

I got her a new camera on ebay a nice little Minolta Vectris, ten times the camera compared to the Ixus, which has only the size to recommend it.

Hi try asking your local camera shop to check the take up spool for you ,they might check free they might charge.
