You're obviously set up with the conventional single pipe gravity oil feed Paul.
The oil pump in that boiler will lift oil from below the burner level, but an alteration to the pump is needed. Also, it would need a 2-pipe system.
Not worth the time and trouble for a temporary fix.
I guess, in theory, syphoning might work. I really don't know. I can't help thinking that you would come across problems with air getting in. Oil boilers are a bit like diesel engines. They don't like running out of fuel.
I'd be inclined to go for some kind of open-topped tank such as a roof storage tank. Something where you can get your hand in to make a simple outlet connection that will connect to your oil pipe.
The trouble is, you don't have much time.
