Well the semblance of a kitchen has finally arrived. However, new washing machine (I didn't ask why) is further in under worktop which means it hard to get at detergent box.
Anybody tell me how to access it - got some powder in but it was awkward. Thanks for any ideas.

Sherrard I don't know why I didn't ask - I am thinking maybe that the pump behind the machine has been too short.
Already I am seeing mistakes. Two worktops are not aligned - just a little.
The son and dad have been doing the job as recommended by my nephew (they done his) anyway the dad has been phenomenal but the son who owns the business (I noticed surreptitiously) fell apart a cuppla times (he didn't see me seeing him).
Also the taps (I picked them) are extremely loose (they have said that is the way these new taps are). Taps and sink feels like tin ( they are definitely not making things they way they used to) If I thought it was worth my while I would change taps. OMG

Best get the fitter to do it, in case it needs re-levelling.
Unfortunately some of today's stainless steel sinks are very thin. As mixer taps and even single taps tend to be very weighty, they cause the thin sink to flex around the mounting point when handled, resulting in them appearing to be "loose". Changing the sink, not the taps, is the solution. As others have said, make sure you are 100% happy before handing over full payment.

As others have already said ..'' Dont part with all money'' .. until you are happy with the results''... keep a few hundred back until all is well with the new installation.
I must admit that modern basic sinks are a bit flimsy and when taps are fitted they often feel as though they are wobbly due to the thin steel used in their construction.
The answer in hindsight would be to have specified a better quality sink at the planning stage. But you fitters would have been well aware of that issue, and should have advised you before supplying and fitting.
I would doubt very much that you have a pump behind your machine, and the machine if free standing, should be simple enough to pull forward and ease access to the detergent drawer.
If the fitters demanded some money up front, dont forget to hold on to that retainer until the job is done is done to your satisfaction.

Well just letting you know kitchen is now finished oh voila!!! - No I couldn't bring wmachine forward as it is behind a false door but tonight I bought a flexible funnel in Halfords - just the trick.
Now final touches have been added it is truly lovely - tomorrow will see electrician finalise ie insert striplights under units and then maybe two weeks time a lick of paint and glass splashback.
I truly feel for people who go through this for months ie extensions etc - never in a month of Sundays would I go through this.
Workmen turned out exceptional as they went back and back and back to store for the kitchen since there was no sign of delivery - one panel is missing but I can live with that.
These workmen are nephew's friends and I truly believe if I had have got other workmen they would have told me to just wait until kitchen arrived.
I have been lucky and I do appreciate it.
