The fact is, it shouldn`t go missing and you shouldn`t have to pay for a tracked service just in case it does. Royal Mail provide post boxes and you pay to use them via postage. When the item doesn`t arrive they say it`s just tough. That`s not really good enough. I would phone up and complain too because there have been cases of postmen dumping their mail beside the road. At least if you complain, they can see if there is a pattern emerging. I hardly ever post packages but they have just lost an item I sold on ebay. It was first class signed for and I can`t even begin a claim until 15 days is up and then they will "consider" it. That`s nice of them!
