The above item is thankfully in my garage. The problem is that it has a metallic rattle, which goes on and on. Does anyone know what is causing this? If it had been inside the house it would have been consigned to the tip ages ago. Help please ................

Without any further info. to go on I would suggest something has come loose inside the casing or the motor is on it's last legs and vibrating excessively.
Check that one of the supporting legs hasn't weakened and become loose.
...do chest freezers have "supporting legs"? Mine doesn't!
