how the hell do you remove channel number _av from tv screen tried everything must be some button i havent pressed yet

On my remote it's a button with a picture of a square with a + in the top right corner - do you have one of those?

Try pressing the AV button again (that's how we do it at home)

My av button cycles round thus:

AV1-AV2-SVHS-normal TV

So press the av button again until you get back to your normal TV

PS the AV button on som remotes is a blank square with either a + or an arrow in it. Though some actually say AV. Of course you can cheat and RTFM*
