Will Streaming Sticks Work With My Tv

I regularly use BBCi player on my iPad but this a bit anti-social and am considering a streaming stick for my family TV.

Do they work on a TV that doesn't have full HD? (just HD ready?)

As a bonus I'd like a stick that also offers ITV player and 4, 5 on Demand.

Incidentally I suspect that my internet connection is not very fast.

Which stick would any more tech savvy member recommend?

If you buy online it will cost you £9.99 (inc p&p) and gives you BBC iPlayer, ITV Player, 4oD and Demand5. It also gives you other apps so that, for example, you can watch programmes that have been uploaded to Youtube on your TV or listen to radio stations from across the world via the TuneIn app.

You also have the option to pay £6.99 per month (with no tie-in to any form of contract) for access to a selection of non-Freeview channels, such GOLD, Sky Arts 1, Sky 1, Discovery, etc. (There are additional options for movies and sport as well). As you'll see from the link, you can buy initial 'bundles' that save you money but you might want to take in look in the major supermarkets as well because . . .

Asda were recently offering Now TV boxes, complete with 3 months access to those additional entertainment channels for just £16. (That's where I got mine!). You could also pay the same amount but get some sports or movie access instead. I'm not sure whether the offer is still on but, if not, Tesco are selling them (complete with 3 months access to the entertainment channels, or with the sports/movie options) for £20 but with 250 extra points on your Tesco Clubcard. (So that's £2.70 worth of Clubcard points in total).
