Set Day/date On Wrist Watch

Two queries really - at what time of day does the mechanism start to change the day/date on a watch, and what is the best time to set the actual details? For the past couple of weeks my watch keeps being out of sync although I correct it when I notice. Advice appreciated.

Mine changes at midnight. As I don`t wear it to work (for a few days at a time) it has stopped when I get home so I`m always having to set the time and date. If I set the date in the afternoon, the date doesn`t change at midnight because the watch thingss it`s midday so the best time to set it is between midnight and midday

Most analogue watches don't know the difference between AM and PM, they simply change the date every other time the hands pass 12:000.
So, if the date changed at noon, the date will NOT change the next time the hands pass 12:00. Hence, all you need to do is manually wind the hands past 12:00 shortly afterwards, and then set the time correctly. As the hands have now passed 12:00 without triggering the date-change, the next time they pass it (which well be at midnight) the date will change.

Thanks for interest and replies - have now wound forward a full twelve hours and set the correct time so, hopefully, should be ok.
