Zanussi Dishwasher Problem

ZANUSSI ZSF 6128 Dishwasher.
When turned on there is the whirring sound as if it is trying to start.
Not filling with water apparently.
Have checked and water getting as far as the entry point of the hose bottom rear of machine so obviously fault is with the machine.
Any tips on what to check next.
AB has never let me down before so hoping someone can help again.

The water tank may be filled with greasy sludge.

The water outlet from tank to machine may be clogged with crud.
