Can any advise my husband his to sort out the timer on our cooker which we inherited in our house move - it won't reset despite him going through the manual - stoves helpline said the same thing and now want us to have a home visit at a cost of £139 ! Please help !

I would just use it on manual control , £139 is outrageous you can buy a new cooker for under £250.
If you have done what is in the manual I would say the timer needs replacement , they do not last as long as the cooker its self. We had one that broke after a few years but the cooker was fine on manual control for many more years. If they want £139 just too look at it , they will want much more to replace anything.
