How To Move To Another City?
3 Answers
Hi, I want to move to another city and unfortunately I lost my job and am claiming Jobseekers Allowance & Housing Benefit. We need to find a landlord who takes Housing Benefit. Whatr order do we do things? Do we have to find a house first before we sign off benefits in the city we are now, or can the job centre transfer all our papers to the new city so we don't have to sign off as it is so much hassle? Is it also better to stay in a hostel in the city we want to move to, to have a look around the areas and for housing? I hope you can all help me? Thanks so much in advance.

You have to provide your new address as TWR said. Best to ask for advice at your current benefits office about transferring your JAS etc. Search online for agencies in the city you want to move to for homes where landlords will accept tenants on Housing Benefit.
