Back in Febuary this year i got myself one of these UGC Unlimited cards.Basically for 9.99 a month i can go & see as many movies i want.At the time i was told that the card would be going up to 10.99 at some point, but because i signed up when it was 9.99 just now that is how much i would pay a month for the year.

Couple of months back the card went up to 10.99 but i was still getting charged 9.99 that was agreed. This morning i get a letter in saying that UGC Cinema is now part of the Cineword family & UGC is now known as Cineword Cinema.

The letter also states that the new price for the card is 10.99 & that is how much i will be charged every month.I don't have a problem paying the extra pound but it is the principal of them changing the price even though when i signed up it was 9.99 for the 12 months. Are they allowed to do this?

Give your local trading standards a call. You'll get their number in the Yellow pages. I know what you mean though - The principle of the thing - no matter how small can be really annoying.  They're probably covered in their terms and conditions - stating that they have to give you a certain advance warning in writing.
Morally, no, but unless you have it in writing that they agreed you'd pay 9.99 for the year, they can probably get away with saying "we put the price up".
