It looks like I have got to fit an oven thermostat to the above cooker.Anyone know how to do this?is it easy enough to tackle?

You ask the question as though it hasn't got one already, or is it a replacement?
I presume you want to fit something like this:

Do check that the symptoms requiring this part to be fitted are all that's happening. If you need to disconnect the gas to get behind the control panel, then you should use a Gas-Safe registered engineer.

Yes....rccatnap is 100% correct here.

Under no circumstances try to replace this yourself...as well as highly dangerous, its also illegal.
