Very big question as SM affects so many aspects of life from personal situations to business promotion.

I do believe it is making 'us' more aware of previously hidden situations and that it is allowing us challenge the political status quo.

Yes it does change the way we think because whenever you add much more new information to your existing bank of knowledge along with a broad range of points of view will cause us to think differently.

Social Media in the past took place in pubs, clubs,readers letters in newspapers and gossip in the streets .It has always been with us but never before in its present form. Whereas it might have taken days for us to get to know what was happening in the same town now it is an instant form of communication between people all over the world. With it however comes a sense of freedom to say whatever you are thinking .Often people overstep the mark and make insulting , disparaging remarks that maybe they would not have used if talking face to face. Libel and Slander laws don't seem to apply anymore unless homophobic or racist views are being used. In a way social media has brought the whole world together but as always it would be advisable to 'think before you speak' or at least think before you press the send button.
