Washing Machine Problem
12 Answers
For the last couple of months some of my washing has come out with a beige gritty deposit stuck to it and some of this has also collected in the rubber seal. I have a vague wondering if this is a stabiliser block or something disintegrating and getting into the drum? Other than that it's working fine with no unusual noises. any thoughts on what it could be?

It's a mixture of hard water deposit, fabric softener silicone and bacteria. Give it a regular very hot wash with washing soda or a special machine cleaner product. Also consider using an anti bacterial final rinse treatment like Dettol.

Have a in-depth look at the seal Prudie, is there something within the seal creases? the stabiliser blocks are at the base of the drum & held in place by two / four Heavy Duty Springs, the Drum should be a sealed unit only allowing water in / out for drainage, I would check the drum for foreign materials stuck in the Holes.
It's an Ariston washer dryer and doesn't have a filter (well it does apparently right in the centre of the motor and users are not expected to access it). I have googled and although many say soap build up etc I've seen a couple of mentions of the drum bearing. This is not usual gunk, it's like bits of stone almost.
