I have been a member here for 10 years & until about a week ago once I'd logged in I stayed logged in. Now, in spite of ticking the box saying 'remember me on this computer' I don't stay logged in for longer than each individual visit to the site.

Have I inadvertently done something? If so, how can I undo it? Or have there been changes made to systems at HQ?

Have you set your history to clear all after logging off? Or your cookie filter or something else recently?
When you are logged in have you tried adding the logged in page to bookmarks or favourites, then putting it in your taskbar(top of screen)? Then with a new tab opened just click on the icon.

I don't think so, Togo. Certainly not on purpose, as I wouldn't know how to do it!
But I can't believe I would have done it more than once, by mistake, over a week ago, & I must have re-logged in about 50 times since then.
Which web browser are you using?

Oh dear! I am totally computer illiterate, & don't even know how to answer your questions. Both my children (in their 40s) are going to be here this weekend, & I'll try to get them to give me a quick lesson in these basics, & hopefully sort out my problem. But thank you both for trying.
What icon do you click on to open the internet? Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer?
Dont know about anyone else but I think, considering Kettledrum has not done anything, that perhaps and scheduled update or security upgrade has altered the settings back to a default.
A scheduled!
Has anyone else borrowed your laptop/device? If so maybe they cleared the cache afterwards. If not, it'll be a setting in your browser for remembering/not remembering passwords which has reverted to the default setting following an update as Togo says
I think it is important for you to answer the question put to you at 10.27 by Buenchico. Perhaps then the issue can be sorted.

Hans.
I have a similar problem, but only on Firefox.
On google chrome, I just connect, but on F/F it wont accept my password, and when I try another one, it warns me I could be in danger of a virus etc.

Apologies to everyone who is trying to be so helpful. I've been busy. My daughter is moving house & I've been doing grandmotherly stuff. The grandchildren (5 & 8) frequently hijack my desk top & iPad, but are not capable of clearing my history, except by mistake, & certainly wouldn't / couldn't have done it upwards of 50 times in the last week to 10 days. I normally use Chrome but occasionally use Microsoft Edge as it used to be the only browser which would display the Times Crossword puzzle correctly when I wanted to do it on line. (No longer necessary since The Times has updated its site.)
I thought my daughter had solved the problem, but I was wrong! Never mind: I can live with it until I have more time to investigate more thoroughly. Thank you all for trying.
