I have a table lamp with a European plug. What do I need to adapt it? I think it was made in Germany.

Remove the European plug and replace it with a British one.

Or just buy a European adaptor.
One of these, Pasta.

No reason you can't just hack the plug off and fit a UK one.
Mine came from The Argos website but the link was too long to put on here.

Can I get them anywhere?...Maplins...Wilko?
Question Author
Ah...ok Tilly. Thanks for that. Don't think I'll fit a new one. I'm sure it's easy...but I want to be sure it will work...;-0
Argos.
Much better to just replace with a normal UK 3-pin.
Pasta, my suggestion is a plug. You plug it into your socket and then plug in the lamp. It's not a new plug for the lamp.
There are two different types of German plug, if it is the flatish one then this is what you want.

I believe I have a Europlug...https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Europlug
Pasta....just chop off the ruddy Euro plug and replace it with a British one....about 50p from any ironmongers !
Question Author
Mikey...I've already said I'm not into messing about with wires. So an adaptor it will be. ;-)
Its a very easy thing to do Pasta...isn't there anybody that can do it for you ?

I would if I lived closer !
Question Author
Thanks for the offer Mikey...
Maybe I'll ask someone. ;-)
But why when I have given a link to the perfect solution?
I use these myself if I buy an electrical product from Germany ... the guarantee stays intact.
