clocks going back in night clubs?

if i was in a nightclub at 2am and the clocks went back that night and it didnt shut till 2 would that entitle me to another hour in the club? always wonderd the answer to this rather pointless question.

In Wisconsin USA bars close at 2:30. Clocks are turned back at 2:00am. So we have an extra hour for spirits.

Same argument crops up year after year in public service occupations which operate 24/7/52. It's a never-ending conundrum with no obvious answer.
In springtime would you be prepared to lose an hour's pay....always assuming that the question involves money?

There is an obvious answer. As a licensing lawyer, I can confirm that there are some premises which close at 2am. Liquor can only be legally sold in this country until 2am at the latest, 3am in London. The extensions to these times which have been written about for months will not apply until 24th November. Today marks the end of British Summer Time. At 2.00am this morning the clocks went back for one hour. This gives any premises operating a Special Hours Certificate an extra hour for trading. You have to be trading until 2.00am to get this extension. If you do, then you can trade for three hours beyond midnight last night. Last spring, when the clocks went forward at 2am, the clubs had to close at 2 anyway so nothing was lost.

Well, I work in an Edinburgh nightclub (usual extension - 3am) and we DO gain an extra hours trading when the clocks go back. Believe me it is not a pointless question. I know a few licensees around here (including - I understand, my own boss) who are not at all happy with the situation. Yes we do have an extra hour at some point in October and this does often mean a busy night with more people deciding to go out than normal, but the difference is not considered significant enough to offset the hours loss of trade when the clocks go forward earlier in the year - The last hours trade is not nearly as profitable as the few hours before it.

To go off on a tangent - why do banks always start "maintenance" on their systems at 2am. It means no-one within a council district that permits extensions later than this time can access cashpoints late at night, and that I can't accept card transactions either!
