I have no idea on the legalities but yes it is possible.

If this is like micro chipping for dogs, then I think it's an excellent idea for children. With the proviso that the chip is removed when the child comes of age, it might be a great safety precaution.

It does smack a bit of 'Big Brother' though. A human rights issue perhaps?

I'm sure chipping will come but for younger children there are other ways.

The current generation of chips used in pets are not RFID...they only show up when scanned at fairly close range and are not trackable. That's why when animals are tracked in the wild, they are still fitted with bulky external tracking devices.

bedknobs, there will need to be a lot more done on the miniaturisation and electromagnetic recharging of batteries before that happens.....and a HUGE computer to manipulate all the data
