If not why not? I am routinely asked to remove my lid when I buy fuel.

A good question which I asked earlier - I've even been asked to remove my 'Old Git's Cap and Scarf' by one particularly officious jobsworthiness when buying petrol an open top.
"for an open top car in winter"
Why would they be asked to remove a hijab?

So that's where they went. :0)
You also, routinely, make the mistake of posting your questions in News when they aren't actually 'news-items'.

Perhaps you could contact one of the petrol-selling forecourt companies and ask for their policies on the matter?
I have moved this to the category "How it Works".
lol... an Ed with a SOH.
How does what work?
The rules for wearing a lid when purchasing fuel at a garage.
Ed......why pick on TTT's thread?

Everyday there is at least one OP in an appropriate section which remains in situ.
inappropriate ^^^^
G'afternoon ABSE.......I am slowly beginning to understand how AB works. However, mystified by you action on this occasion.

Hans.
Threads are moved to correct categories quite often.

I do agree with Jack, Forecourt operators would know how it works.
Sqad, if that is the case, please use the report function to bring these threads to the front of our attention.

It's illegal to allow under 16s to operate a fuel pump or buy fuel so some fuel stations insist on seeing the user's face.
Most don't insist on it - Tesco allow bikers to fuel up and pay at the pump but request the removal of the helmet before entering the kiosk.

Different outlets have different rules. I've never been asked to remove my hood, hat or cap at a fuel station.
