'auto Scannning' Or 'auto Tuning' Tv Channels.

I have a Samsung6400 tv receiving through Virgin cable & Virgin V6 box.
I recently sent my tv for repair & on its return I had to set it up again, following instructions on the screen.One of the instrutions was 'auto scan' or 'auto tune',which required me to wait for a few minutes while it carried out this proceedure.
The set-up was successful apart from the sound control which has to be set at a very much higher level than previously.
I would like to go through this 'auto tune' procedure once more in order to verify that it was carried out properly.Can anybody advise me how to retrieve this screen page?
Also I'd like to know whether this is a question for the Vigin people or the Samsung people.

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.If you watch your TV through your Virgin box I don't think you need to do any scanning as this is for channels via your rooftop aerial.
Just switch the TV so it is "looking" at the Virgin box (on HDMI?) and you get all your channels through the Virgin box (no need to scan).
IF you do want to do the scan then I guess you press Menu (?) on your handset and then select the "Setup" (?) option.
Remote controls do vary so the settings on yours may have different names.
If you put the number of the TV in a search engine then you can probably download the TV setup guide.
Or go to the Samsung web site and find "Help and Support" or something like that and put in the number of your TV and you can download the documentation.

There will be a setting for the volume which levels out the volume when it senses things being significantly different to other broadcasted items e.g. adverts etc. it will be called 'ambient sound level' or some-such technobabble and it might be this which is generally set too low.
You could try this:
1. Press MENU on your Samsung TV remote.
2. Select SOUND
3. Select ADDITIONAL SETTINGS, if you do not see Additional Settings, select SPEAKER SETTINGS
4. Set Auto Volume to NORMAL
