any way of getting cable tv in another room, without paying 15 a mth extra for box rental to telewest etc? i dont want to buck the system but i don't see why i should pay 50% extra a mth to watch cable in a diff room if i so choose(!)

i looked at digisender gold but 100 a bit steep too. the cheap ones cant handle irda infra red codes that pace cable boxes use or something...

i see cable boxes on ebay but i dont know if they' can be to work or if using one is "legal" or detectable even. as mentioned i dont begrudge the cable co. 30 a mth but i should be able to watch in another room legitamately and for a reasonable cost?!

Try getting a extension cable (Argos B&Q ETC 4.99) put a splitter on back of TV. Connect normal lead and new lead to splitter . Then new lead to other room. Works for me in every room, including bedrooms

Hi

You can also get a sender unit that wirelessly transmits the signal to your other tv. Tescos do one for about 20 quid. You just plug into the scart downstairs and another unit plugged into the other tv. Again you can only watch the same channel.

Sorry forgot to say the tesco one has the ability to tranmit remote control signals to the main box as well.
